III International Summer School @University of Cádiz

Course: Effective Communication Skills for Scientists

We have the pleasure to announce the organisation of an international summer course on Effective_Communication_Skills_for_Scientists within the framework of the ?III UCA-CEIMAR International Summer School? during the first week of?July 2016 in Cadiz, Spain. The course is principally aimed at Master and PhD level students, although we accept applications from students and researchers at any level. The course will be taught in English.

The course is being organised by an international team of scientists and professional scientific illustrators and will focus on basic and advanced skills in science communication. Participants will be introduced to modern theories of communication and the latest trends in design and presentations. It will provide a hands-on approach with plenty of exercises on: title and abstract writing, constructing a story; principles of design and layout, use of graphics and colours; graphs, slides, poster and infographics preparation; presentation techniques; delivery and effective use of voice and body; use of new software tools to prepare your communications.
